Screenwriting Instruction:
Screenwriter/producer, Karen Webb, a principal owner in Pinch Hit Productions, teaches Screenwriting basics to children and adults in the Boston area.  

Her course "Writing Your First Screenplay" is an introduction to narrative screenwriting.   Participants learn develop a story from a character and develop an understanding of how to manipulate the audience by using various tools and structure to heighten the dramatic conditions facing the character.  Each participant will write an eight page short script by the end of the course.

Seven Day Auction:  Feature screenplay written by Karen Webb.  Currently under option by Hollywood Director Philippe Ney, Wonderland Films.  Third Place winner in the 2006 Romance Writers of America/Scriptscene Screenplay Competition.
Logline:  How far would you go to get something you really want?  When Pia's father is sent to jail, putting her last year of college and lifestyle in jeopardy, she reluctantly agrees to sell her virginity on the internet to pay her tuition, against her pro-abstinence ideals, and finds the love of her life in the process. 

Christmas Cake:  Feature screenplay written by Karen Webb.  First prize winner in the 2008 Rhode Island International Film Festival, finalist in the 2009 Beaufort Film Festival, finalist in the 2008 New Hampshire Film Festival, semi-finalist in the Moondance Film Festival.
Logline:  An American woman attempts to leave her broken-hearted past for Japan only to find the competitive Japanese corporate world, the difficulty of a woman's place in that arena, and the cultural barriers that affect her love for a man she can't have.  

Green Grass:  Short screenplay written by Karen Webb.  Produced in 2007 by Pinch Hit Productions LLC, submitted to international film festivals in 2007/2008.  Won a script award at the Vail Film Festival in 2007.  Chosen as the Rhode Island Film Collaborative (RIFC)2007 film project.
Logline:  The grass is always greener...or is it?  An illegal immigrant and an Irish-American, two competing landscapers, face a moral dilemma as they fight to do the right thing for their families.  

Arthur's Salvation:  Short screenplay written by Karen Webb.  Grand Prize winner in the 2008 Manhattan Short Film Festival, finalist in the 2007 Vail Film Festival, finalist in the 2007 Moondance Film Festival.  Based on a short story by Karen Webb originally published in journal of the New England Writers Network.
Logline:  Arthur Dumond, a ten year old, physically and mentally abused boy from St. Martin, finds salvation in the form of a dented trumpet.

Is He Real or Not?:  Short screenplay written by Karen Webb.  Currently in Production with Pinch Hit Productions and Lighten Up, Ladies Productions.
Logline:  A nine year old girl, who hears on the school bus from the neighborhood bully that Santa isn’t real, reevaluates her beliefs in Santa and in humanity.

Ring of Vengeance:  Feature screenplay written by Karen Webb.
Logline:  As a young man, kind-hearted Hersh Menzel survived medical experiments and the Birkenau death camp after helplessly witnessing his twin sister's murder by a Nazi prison guard.  Sixty years later, after the disappearance of his granddaughter, Hersh's personal guilt and drive to make things right sends him off on a journey to find and convict his granddaughter's killer.  Has he proven his granddaughter was killed by a neo-Nazi...or has he condemned an innocent man?  

Chez Bananas:  Written for the 2007 NYC Midnight Madness screenwriting competition.
Logline:  A chef in a cooking competition reluctantly agrees to watch his wife's chimpanzee, but when the prococious primate runs amuck, the chef's reputation, his award winning recipe, the public's health, and a chocolate Grand Marnier soufflé is at risk.


This is Dancing Beaver:  Written for the 2006 NYC Midnight Madness screenwriting competition.
Logline:  An inner-city boy is sent to a unique hunting camp for troubled teens and learns life lessons through hunting and the great outdoors.

Let It All Out:  Co-written by Karen Webb, Jon Seamens, Kyle Perzanoski, Mary Conroy, Catherine O'Neill, Rhea Becker, and Jodi Bennett.  Produced in 2006 by Goldilocks Productions, Let It All Out won the best 49 hour film award from the Providence 48 Hour Film Festival.
Logline:  A man with a personal problem finds the woman of his dreams.

One More House:  Co-written by Karen Webb, Jon Seamens, Kyle Perzanoski and Neringa Bryant.  Produced in 2006 by Goldilocks Productions, One More House was written for the 2006 National Film Challenge.
